Which is the better operating system, Windows or Linux. The answer
depends both on your specific needs, and on your technical abilities.
Windows has a larger set of applications available for it, though many
of these applications have alternatives (many of them free) that can
be used on Linux. You might have to learn a different user interface
however.
Linux will tend to run faster, on the same hardware, because it is a leaner system, or it more readily configurable in a way that eliminates many of the unnecessary components. Many claim that Linux is more secure, though the reason it is more secure has as much to do with the way one tytpically runs Windows systems (with users running as administrator) than it has to do with the numbers of vulnerabilities. |
